Pia homestay seems to be run by a friendly couple. Our 2N stay was wonderful and we absolutely enjoyed the room esply and the help we received.

Upon arrival, our key card was neatly readied for us for collection. Our room on the 3rd floor was roomy, clean, cozy and comfortable. Bathroom is spotless and beautiful w emerald tiles. Both were without any odour and very well maintained, like new. The room is equipped with both a fan and air conditioning.

The decor was mainly of a rustic theme with lots wood and homey vibes, which we absolutely adore. This place reminds you of a v welcoming warm home with plants and cute props, and an air well.

Kitchen on ground floor is well equipped w 2 fridges, water dispenser, tableware and coffee and tea. There's an adorable patio right in front for coffee and for waiting one's ride.

During our stay, a small hiccup occured which the owners dealt swiftly, effectively and with the best positive attitude. We were extremely grateful for that and had no qualms about it. After all, this is a small homestay run by a couple in a very remote town. ☺️

Pia homestay is located right smack in town, and within walking distances to eateries in the morning and at night. It's also a good distance to walk to experience the local life and the very cool Kim Dong Walking street with lots of community activities esply for the kids.

Prior to our stay, our correspondences via WhatsApp were always prompt, helpful and friendly despite the time difference and hours, which we appreciate v much. The owner helped us with the reservation of transportation to and from Hanoi, which saved us a lot of trouble of potential challenging communication w the drivers as well as provided us with lots of convenience.

This review is for the tour “Ban Gioc Waterfall Day Tour from Cao Bang” we booked on GET YOUR GUIDE but is run by PIA Homestay.

I wish I could give this tour far more than 5 stars. We would 100% recommend this trip.
We genuinely had the best experience with Vuong. He was such a great guide, and a lovely person. Not to mention his great and wonderfully varied music playlist ☺️
From the amazing local breakfast of Buon Cahn in Cao Bang to learning how glass noodles are made from Canna root.
The visit to the blacksmith village to see knife making was impressive. Watching the process of the family making knives by hand from the kiln to be shaped, then to be honed, handles carved and then the knives sharpened to complete the process.
Then onto the Ban Gioc Waterfalls. Words and photos don’t do these beautiful falls justice.
You have to see and experience the falls with Vuong.
Lunch was a perfect dish of beef with glass noodles, and a VERY generous serving. We couldn’t eat it all!
After lunch we visited Nguom Ngao Cave. Another experience you can’t miss. Around every turn is something different and exotic looking. Natural creations formed over millions of years that appear truly out of this world. The relaxing drive to Angel Eye Mountain allowed for a little nap after lunch if you are so inclined🤭 Although the scenery is also a wonder.
Vuong organised all entry tickets and meals and he made the day so easy.
To end the day he even invited us into his home to taste the local Cao Bang pineapple. It was sweet and delicious and like no other pineapple I have ever tasted.
Vuong was very easy going, there was no rush at any of the sites. He really wants his guests to have a fantastic day and enjoy the tour. We had a perfect experience with Vuong. And we would not just recommend his tour, but INSIST you do it 🥰🇻🇳

Great stay overall!  We stayed one night on each end of doing the cao bang loop.  They let us store excess bags and rented us some nice motorbikes.  We had a wonderful time, the area is beautiful!

Amazing hospitality! The couple running the place takes care of everything from loop tours to transport. Beyond the incredible rooms and the comfiest bed I have slept on in all of Vietnam, we loved it so much we came back for another night after the loop. Our Cao Bang Loop experience in Vietnam was honestly one of the highlights of our trip. The scenery was unreal — endless mountain roads, limestone cliffs, quiet villages, and some of the most beautiful landscapes we’ve ever seen. Every stop along the route felt like a postcard, especially riding through the winding roads surrounded by nature.
We rented our motorbike in PIA'S HOMESTAY TOUR AND RENTAL BIKES in Cao Bang, and we couldn’t recommend them more. The bike was reliable, comfortable, and perfect for the loop. The staff were super friendly, helpful, and made the whole process smooth from start to finish. They gave us route recommendations, local tips, and made us feel welcome right away.
One thing we loved about the Cao Bang Loop compared to more crowded routes was how peaceful and authentic it felt. The roads were less busy, allowing us to really enjoy the ride and stop whenever we wanted for photos or just to take in the views
The entire experience felt adventurous but still manageable, even for travelers doing the loop independently. Riding through the mountains with friends, meeting fellow travelers along the way, and staying in local homestays made it unforgettable.
